Pick your battleground

Seven arenas, and three of them change how the game actually plays. The player who makes the room picks — everybody else drops into the same world.

Floor is Lava arena: a grid of dark stone walkways over bright molten lava, dotted with cover blocks and small safe islands.

🌋Arena 01 · Magma vs Obsidian

Floor is Lava

Half the floor is molten rock. Step in and you sink chest-deep, wade at half speed and burn — and the rock lip is too high to walk back over, so you have to jump out. What's left is a web of narrow walkways with lava rivers cutting across them. The best power-ups sit on islands in the middle of the pools, because of course they do.

🔥Tip: you can't be burned while you're in the air. Jump the rivers, don't tiptoe them.

Space Station arena: a neon-lit corridor of hull plating with cyan light strips and pink hazard stripes, a platform ahead and a starfield skylight above.

🚀Arena 02 · Comets vs Meteors

Space Station

The only sealed arena — a warren of corridors in orbit, with Earth and the stars sliding past the skylight and real portholes cut through the hull. And there is no gravity: nobody walks, nothing falls. Every bit of movement is a thruster burn along wherever you're looking. Cut the jets and you just… coast.

🛰️Tip: hanging still is invisible. Your jet flame is what gives you away.

New York arena: a dark city block of shipping containers and crates, ringed by tall skyscrapers with thousands of lit windows against a purple night sky.

🌃Arena 03 · Uptown vs Downtown

New York

A city block at night, boxed in by skyscrapers with a million lit windows. This one is the classic layout: containers, crates and catwalks stacked into lanes and corners. Wide sightlines if you're brave, tight cover if you're smart. It's the arena to learn on — and the one everybody ends up arguing about.

🏙️Tip: the containers stack. Get above the lane and the lane is yours.

Playing takes about 20 seconds

There is no launcher, no patch, no "creating your profile". There's a text box.

  1. 1

    Type a name

Whatever you want to be called today. That's the entire sign-up process.

  2. 2

    Share the code

Hit New for a six-character match code and send it to your friends. Same code = same arena.

  3. 3

    Pick a side and go

Two teams, 1v1 all the way up to 10v10. You can't tag your own team, so aim freely.

On the Space Station there's no jumping — ↑ and ↓ burn your jetpack wherever you're aiming, and ← → fire the side thrusters.

Shoot the floating things

Power-ups drift around the arena. You don't run into them — you shoot them. Everyone can see them, so everyone wants them.

Speed

Everything you do gets faster for a while. On the Space Station it doubles your thrust, which is as chaotic as it sounds.

📡

Radar

A minimap, for a bit. Suddenly you know exactly where everyone is — and they don't know you know.

🔴

Laser cannon

25 shots of double damage in a fat red beam, and unlike your normal laser it reaches any distance. Make them count.

👻

Ghost

Bank up to ten cloaks and trigger one with I. You vanish — until you shoot or get hit. It's for the sneak, not the fight.

There's only ever one laser. You never swap it for something else — you upgrade the one you've got.

A note for parents

🩹No blood, no gore

It's laser tag. Players are blocky cartoon figures, hits are coloured light and sparks, and a tagged player just pops back in a moment later.

🙈No account, no email

Kids type a nickname and play. We don't ask for a name, an email, an age or a password — because we don't want them.

🔒Private matches by default

A match code is a random six characters. Only people your child sends it to can join that arena.

📣Ads pay for it

The game is free and always will be. Ads on this page are what cover the bills — they're configured for a child-directed audience, which means no personalised ad targeting.

Questions? Read the privacy policy — it's short, because there isn't much to say.

Questions

Is LaserTagFun really free?

Yes. Every arena, every power-up, every match. There's nothing to buy and nothing locked behind a "premium" anything. Ads pay for it.

Do I need to download or install anything?

Nope. It runs in your browser. Open the page, type a name, you're in.

Do I need an account?

No. You pick a nickname each time you play. No sign-up, no password, no email.

How do I play with my friends?

One of you presses New to get a six-character match code and shares it. Everyone types the same code, picks a team, and enters together.

Is it violent?

It's laser tag — glowing beams, blocky cartoon characters, no blood and no gore. Get tagged and you respawn.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Not yet. LaserTagFun needs a keyboard and mouse, so grab a laptop or desktop. Touch controls are on the list.

What is the Floor is Lava arena?

One of the seven arenas — and one of the three that change how the game actually plays. About half the floor is molten lava: step in and you sink chest-deep, move at half speed and lose health, and the rock edge is too high to walk back over, so you have to jump out. The rest is a web of narrow stone walkways cut by lava rivers, with the best power-ups sitting on islands in the middle of the pools. You're safe on rock, on cover, or in mid-air. Free to play in your browser, like everything else here. See the arena.

How many people can play at once?

Two teams, from 1v1 up to 10v10 — twenty players in one arena.

Can I play on my own?

Yes — bots will fill the arena and fight you. They know about the lava, so don't count on them walking into it.

Your friends are already picking teams.
